The Ericeira World Surfing Reserve Interpretation Center (EWSRIC), inaugurated in June 2016, recently reopened to the public, after an intervention to refurbish its technological components and reformulate the respective exhibition contents.<\/p>\n

This requalification was part of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve, celebrated in 2021 by the EWSR+10, and is in line with the certification of the municipal territory as a Sustainable Tourist Destination<\/a>.<\/p>\n

this was the best ranked project among the 172 applications received by the Environmental Fund<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Set up on the first floor of the Ericeira Tourist Office, at Pra\u00e7a da Rep\u00fablica \u2013 unofficially known as ‘Jogo da Bola’ \u2013, this equipment dedicated to environmental education now offers an even more immersive permanent exhibition that makes us feel part of some emblematic scenes from the movie \u201cMinority Report\u201d, directed by Steven Spielberg.<\/p>\n

Taking advantage of sensory exploration, especially through sight, hearing and smell, the EWSRIC has three main exploratory areas, two of which include touchless technology, thus ensuring better conditions for visitors of all ages.<\/p>\n

The project is co-financed by the Environmental Fund within the scope of the National Environmental Education Strategy 2020 \u2013 Protecting life on Earth, having been the best ranked project among the 172 applications received by this Fund.<\/p>\n

This Interpretation Center is open to the public from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm, from Monday to Sunday, except on December 25, January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1 and Ascension Thursday or Espiga \u2013 the municipal holiday in the municipality of Mafra.<\/p>\n
