Recently, the Surfpreneurs Club platform \u2013 a global community of surf brand entrepreneurs, which aims to boost and help grow independent sports-related businesses \u2013 featured two Ericeira brands among the 10 most sustainable surf brands in Portugal: Palm&Pine and Mothersurf.<\/p>\n

The article begins by mentioning that \u201cA deep paradox lies at the heart of every surfer\u2019s life. By definition lovers of nature and amongst the first in line to see the damages caused by man to the world\u2019s oceans, surfers are and always have been environmentalists (to varying degrees of course).\u201d<\/p>\n

This love for nature, together with the fact that the practice of sport involves producing a lot of waste and pollution, is a problem that has been increasingly addressed in recent years. Thus, many entrepreneurs have been looking for more ecological solutions for the production of surfing equipment.<\/p>\n

Due to the fact that Ericeira has been considered a World Surfing Reserve (10 years ago) and the rugged coastline that offers almost endless options for waves, Portugal has become the main surfing destination in Europe. As such, the Portuguese surfing industry has been developing very quickly and converting to greener modes of production.<\/p>\n

Palm & Pine and Mothersurf are two brands that have been looking for more ecological solutions<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Alongside brands of great Portuguese surfers, such as \u201cBrusco\u201d (by Nic Von Rupp), and one of the most famous Portuguese surf brands \u2013 Deeply \u2013 Palm & Pine and Mothersurf are two insignia of the village where the sea is bluer which proved to be quite sustainable and achieved a prominent place in this article.<\/p>\n

While Palm & Pine<\/a> \u2013 founded by surfers Ross and Sarah \u2013 is concerned with ocean-friendly skin care, producing natural sunscreens, without plastic packaging, the surf shop Mothersurf<\/a> offers its customers a carefully selected collection of international ecosurf brands.<\/p>\n
