Alongside with a Travel Guide to Portugal on the website<\/a> (which features the cities of Lisbon, Porto and Braga and the town of Sintra), the French newspaper Le Figaro, in the travel category (Voyage), published an article about Ericeira.<\/p>\n

Starting with a historical framework, where Lauriane Gepner reports that in the 19th century the village where the sea is bluer became the seaside residence of the Portuguese royal family (established in Mafra), the article’s author says that today Ericeira is known for its impressive waves, which already welcomed American and Australian surfers in the 70s: Ericeira’s World Surfing Reserve is the only one in Europe and is loved by many of the best surfers of the world’s elite.<\/p>\n

Throughout the article, the author leaves some tips on what to see and do in the village, such as Surf, Paddle or Bodyboard lessons or a visit to the World Surfing Reserve Interpretation Center, which she describes as \u201can interactive setup for video mapping [which] allows familiarization with the Reserve and its protected biosphere, the seven waves considered world-class and their characteristics\u201d.<\/p>\n
