{"id":46300,"date":"2021-10-28T04:40:18","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T03:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=46300\/"},"modified":"2021-10-26T10:13:57","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T09:13:57","slug":"the-basilica-of-mafra-will-soon-be-accessible-to-people-with-reduced-mobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/the-basilica-of-mafra-will-soon-be-accessible-to-people-with-reduced-mobility\/","title":{"rendered":"The Basilica of Mafra will soon be accessible to people with reduced mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> RR<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In September the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC), signed a contract for the \u201csetup of an access platform to the Basilica\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, due to the stairs that give access to it, the Basilica of Mafra National Palace is not accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM), so the contract signed with Augusto de Oliveira Ferreira &amp; C.\u00aa, Lda \u2013 company responsible for the restoration of Mafra National Palace&#8217;s carillon \u2013, with an execution period of 90 days and the value of 87,360, 06 euros, will facilitate access to the building for many potential visitors, through a platform for this specific purpose.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>a public tender was opened for the setup of an elevator to access the entire space of the Palace<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There will also be an elevator that will allow PRM access to the entire space of the Palace, including the Royal Rooms \u2013 and not just the ground floor, as is now possible.
