{"id":35703,"date":"2019-11-06T06:16:07","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T06:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=35703\/"},"modified":"2019-11-04T12:23:00","modified_gmt":"2019-11-04T12:23:00","slug":"jose-rola-paulo-is-now-an-historic-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/jose-rola-paulo-is-now-an-historic-store\/","title":{"rendered":"Jos\u00e9 Rola Paulo is now an historic shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Filipa Teles Carvalho<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The famous Jos\u00e9 Rola Paulo haberdashery, founded 73 years ago, has already been recognized as an Establishment of Historical Interest.<\/p>\n<p>The application, submitted in May 2018, was unanimously approved at a meeting of the Municipality of Mafra on July 12 this year.<\/p>\n<p>In the document issued by the Legal Affairs Division, it can be read that the \u201cLoja com Hist\u00f3rica\u201d (= Store with History) was assigned for the name of this piece of Ericeira&#8217;s identity, located at Santo Ant\u00f3nio Street 10, because it is recognized \u201cthe historical and cultural \/ social interest\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Parish Council of Ericeira and several municipal services had already assented the granting of this status, based on Law No. 42\/2017 of June 14, which provides for the regime of recognition and protection of local establishments and entities of interest, historical and cultural or social.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23946 colorbox-35703\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03602-773x580.jpg 773w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFazendas, Modas, Retrozeiro\u201d &#8211; the establishment also known only as Rola Paulo or for its constantly updated thematic shop windows (which deserve weekly stopovers of locals and visitors) was founded on January 6, 1946.<\/p>\n<p>When founder Jos\u00e9 Rola Paulo died in 1988, daughter Maria L\u00facia Rocha decided to keep the store open and its essence alive.<\/p>\n<p>This shop had already received an award, a merit badge for cultural exchange\u2026 and now it is the first Ericeira store to deserve the status of Historic Shop!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03592-e1487263460123.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23801 colorbox-35703\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/DSC03592-e1487263460123.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1050\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Haberdashery known for thematic windows was Ericeira&#8217;s first commercial establishment to apply for this status.<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":14,"featured_media":23810,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[117],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-35703","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-dna"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.5 -
