{"id":30647,"date":"2018-05-21T07:18:47","date_gmt":"2018-05-21T06:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/?p=30647"},"modified":"2018-05-17T12:30:33","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T11:30:33","slug":"fountain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/fountain\/","title":{"rendered":"Fountain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Nuno Vicente<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among the various foutains existing in Ericeira, the Fonte do Cabo is located in the southern part of the village, at the intersection of the road that leads to Hotel Vila Gal\u00e9 and the main road.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cCape Fountain\u201d was originally built in 1457 and restored in 1829. Some improvements are made later by the end of the 20th century. At the back it has a tunnel, about 100 meters long, leading to the spring.<\/p>\n<p>On top of the fountain there is a scrollwork and curved pediment with an eight-pointed star medallion. It has a stonework tank to where the two stone spouts flow.
