{"id":13352,"date":"2014-09-17T11:38:10","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T10:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=13352"},"modified":"2014-09-17T11:38:10","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T10:38:10","slug":"garrett-mcnamara-surfs-coxos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/garrett-mcnamara-surfs-coxos\/","title":{"rendered":"Garrett McNamara surfs Coxos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Nuno Dinis<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>ambassador\u00a0<\/em>of Portuguese surf and worldly renowned surfer for descending the biggest wave ever in praia do Norte, Nazar\u00e9, Garrett McNamara, was seen surfing in Coxos last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t know the exact reasons for his visit to Ericeira, but it is known that &#8220;GMAC&#8221; is shooting a promotional documentary on Portuguese waves for Turismo de Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>The photographer Nuno Dinis, whom collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">AZUL<\/a>\u00a0in the series\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/the-town-tolando-pelo-asfalto\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Town<\/a>&#8221; e &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/the-country-a-nacao-maritima-dos-jagozes\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Country<\/a>&#8220;, captured some moments of McNamara&#8217;s passing through Ericeira and told us a bit about the session.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I got to Coxos around 8am and saw Garrett [McNamara] dressing up for the sea while followed by three or four people. After a while he was alone in the water while the remaining crew stood outside shooting discreetly. The waves weren&#8217;t perfect, but were still very good with at least 2 metres, maybe more on <em>sets.\u00a0<\/em>He surfed a couple of hours and I didn&#8217;t notice any reaction from the people watching.
