In the stormy last Winter, a surfer named Matt Button made a visit to the World Surfing Reserve – Ericeira – hoping to score a few of the best waves of the village. However, that particularly cold and wet season was one of the most devastating one for Ericeira’s coast in the last decade. There were too many storms and the waves weren’t the best ones for surfing. Either way, that didn’t stop the surfer from exploring other places and secrets of the village, which he now shared with the world with the photographic series “The Slabs of Ericeira” published by surfing website Drift.<\/a><\/p>\n

The photographic showcase aims to demonstrate the whole potential of Ericeira’s slabs, but it turns out to blend waves, typical streets and sea gastronomy. What was supposed to be a photo-report of the best spots of the village end up becoming a petit-tour guide of Ericeira.<\/p>\n

With Ribeira d’Ilhas on the spotlight – and where Matt Button actually surfed on a particularly heavy day -, the gallery exposes the seafood, the blue and white lines of houses and some of the most symbolic alleys of Ericeira.<\/p>\n
