The Austrian Surf Federation organised, this past week, its National Surf Championship (Austrian Surfing Champs) in Ericeira, which was chosen for the second consecutive year as the stage for this tournament. After choosing in 2012 the Matadouro and the Sul Beach, these central Europe surfers now had the chance to surf Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas\u2019 waves, in a competition arranged by the Ericeira Surf Club.<\/p>\n

The good atmosphere and the consistent waves \u2013 about one meter high \u2013 despite the northern winds, made this edition a successful one for the strong Austrian community based in Ericeira.<\/p>\n

The champions of the four competing categories \u2013 Konrad Tretter (Men’s Open), Gerhard Gruber (Longboard), Martin Roll (Masters) and Lisa Veith (Women’s Open) \u2013 were awarded in a cerimony that took place by Friday night at Na Onda bar, in Foz do Lizandro Beach.<\/p>\n
