The Mafra City Council continues, this year, to promote urban regeneration throughout the municipality, within the scope of “Mafra Requalifica” program.

With the intent to promote the sustainability of the buildings, the support granted was also expanded, providing two new measures aimed at encouraging the reuse of rainwater and graywater.

provision of financial support for the installation of rainwater collection tanks and a 25% reduction in the urban tax

In a context strongly characterized by climate change, in 2023 this program foresees the granting of financial support for the installation of rainwater collection tanks, as well as a 25% reduction in the urban tax included in the fee table for rehabilitation and new works with the installation of systems for recycling and reuse of graywater that include a double network of water – clean and reused.

To be recalled that “Mafra Requalifica” program provides financial incentives, tax benefits and simplification of administrative procedures. This support applies to the entire territory of the Municipality, with some specific support to the Urban Rehabilitation Areas (URA), such as Mafra, Ericeira I and II, Malveira/Venda do Pinheiro, Sobreiro/Achada/Caeiros and Cheleiros/Carvalhal.

Simplifying administrative procedures and encouraging the streamlining of processes, the applications submission to this program takes place digitally, without the need for citizens to get to service points, through a portal provided by the Mafra Council.
